About

Who runs net-tools.ch and why it exists.

The short version

net-tools.ch is a personal project run from Switzerland. I write small, focused services in Go and Node, host them on my own infrastructure, and put them behind one website so they are easy to find.

Principles

  • One job per tool. Each service does one thing and exposes it through a plain JSON API.
  • No accounts. You should be able to use a tool in the time it takes to read this page.
  • Short retention. Anything uploaded is deleted after a limited period. Nothing is kept “just in case”.
  • Honest ads. Hosting costs money. The site shows Google ads and nothing else is monetised; see the privacy policy.

Under the hood

Every tool is a separate container deployed to a Kubernetes cluster, with its own health check and OpenAPI documentation. This website talks to those APIs through a reverse proxy, which is why the tools open on top of the page instead of sending you elsewhere. Service health is public on the status page.
